Are the holidays over yet? Oh god, I have so much to catch up on…

Happy new year! I haven’t updated this site since Christmas Eve, so there is a lot for me to catch up on. Over the past 9 days, I’ve watched:

  1. Captain Phillips
  2. Lee Daniel’s The Butler
  3. Don Jon
  4. Predators
  5. Lost, Season 4
  6. Lost, Season 5 (just two more episodes before I’m done with it)
  7. Predators
  8. Drug War (毒戰)
  9. Unbeatable (激戰)
  10. Rush

I plan on sharing my thoughts about these movies and TV shows as soon as I can, and this is something of a checklist for myself. Writing about what I’m watching takes time away from watching, but it’s probably a good idea to make my brain synthesize some thoughts instead of just constantly endure stimuli.

When I started the site, I also wanted to write about the books I’m reading and the games that currently keep me playing, but have yet to find time for that. Hopefully then, I’ll be able to expand into that soon as well.

What’s worrisome is that the mid-season holiday break for many Fall TV shows is also now over, and that means these shows will be continuing their season with new episodes. I generally like to wait until an entire season is out before I begin watching all of its episodes over a few days, this is much more satisfying than having to wait a week for each new episode. However, there are a few shows I’ve unfortunately made exceptions for, so I’ll try to write some episode reviews as a result and maybe it’ll result in some interesting discussions about each episode.

Also exciting in this vein is the long-awaited return of the BBC’s Sherlock featuring Benedict Cumberbatch. Supposedly the first episode of Season 3 will come out tonight, January 2nd, and BBC is supplying its own Chinese subtitles this time. Can’t wait to see what homoerotic humor they’ll confront Holmes and Watson this time around.
